Quarantine - No. 3

Updated: Dec 15, 2020

What We're Listening to in Time of Quarantine - No. 3

This December 16th marks the 250th birthday of one of the greatest composers to ever live -Ludwig Beethoven-so in honor of this I am posting 2 pieces for your listening pleasure:

First is the 2nd movement of Beethoven’s string quartet op.18 no. 1 performed by the amazing child prodigies Stars Aligned Siblings (ages 7,10,12,130 all from the same family! They are considered the youngest professional quartet and have performed world wide. Their talent and musicality is way beyond their years! Enjoy!

This next piece is my all time favorite piano piece -the Waldstein Sonata which is his greatest and most technically challenging sonata written. I like this performance by the great Claudio Arrau because most performers take the 1st movement way too fast - but he picks the perfect tempo- as a side note one of my quarantine goals is to learn this piece-and I am slowly getting a handle on it!
